Many people face the issue of unwanted hair and struggle to get results even after trying out several techniques of hair removal. A number of factors such as the location and density of hair growth, your skin sensitivity and your skin type can determine the hair removal technique most appropriate for you.

Shaving is the most widespread method of getting rid of unwanted hair. While shaving is effective and inexpensive, it isn’t long lasting and you have to do it frequently to look hair-free. A good example of this is men shaving their beards every day. Shaving is also suitable for ridding body parts such as chest or legs of hair.

Another technique is waxing of body hair. However, the process is messy and generally cannot be done without assistance from another person. The benefit of waxing is that the extraction of hair is done from its base and therefore, it doesn’t grow back for about two to three weeks, offering you a longer duration of freedom from unwanted hair. However, it is a painful process and it might not be suited for getting rid of hair from sensitive parts.

Application of hair removal cream is yet another often used technique, and since its application is simple, you can do it on your own. It is a pain-free process, but the effects don’t last as long as those of waxing. There is another risk that your skin may be sensitive to the chemicals in the cream, causing a rash.

Those who have unbalanced hair growth over their bodies can opt for hair transplant from the parts with more growth to the parts with lesser growth. Such a process is usually complicated and must be avoided if possible.

Lastly, there is another technique known as laser hair removal, which is also the most expensive. Permanent freedom from hair is the most desirable advantage of laser treatment. But in order to avoid marks or other accidents, it should only be done by trained professionals.
