Lucid dreaming, also known as conscious dreaming, is the ability for one to be aware that one is actually dreaming. In other words, if you have a dream and you’re actually aware of the fact that the events which are taking place are not really happening, but that it’s only a dream, then you’re having a lucid dream. Furthermore, one can also have a certain amount of control over a lucid dream which of course is not the case with a regular dream.

Being in a position where you have full control over the direction of your dreams is something which nobody can truly imagine until they actually experience it. In fact, it is such an incredible feeling that one could almost say it comes straight out of a science fiction novel. All of a sudden it feels as though you no longer have any limits in your life.

But, is it really easy as it looks? Can everyone experience lucid dreaming and bring to life that which would otherwise seems difficult or impossible in reality?

The fact of the matter is; lucid dreaming is far from being a difficult a task. If you are determined to master this powerful skill, there are numerous tried and tested ways to achieving your goal.

First and foremost, you must be absolutely clear about your objective in trying to master the art of lucid dreaming. Do you just want to have your own private playground in the form of lucid dreams, or is there some other specific reason for developing this skill? Whatever may be the reason, it should be crystal clear in your mind.

Once you’re satisfied as to why you want to learn this skill, then it’s time to start the actual learning process. The first process, largely referred to as “dream recall”, requires you to remember your last dream. Essentially, if you cannot remember your dreams, it will be virtually impossible to reach the stage of lucid dreaming.

Admittedly, this process can be incredibly slow although it should be noted that you can achieve this goal by means of a “dream recall register”, which in essence will allow you to write down and many details as you can remember regarding each dream you have. While progress may be slow in the beginning, with time you’ll soon come to discover that you are now able to remember even the finest details of a dream.

In many ways it comes as little surprise that a vast number of people have found hypnosis to be extremely advantageously with regards to reducing the time it takes to prepare your subconscious mind. In many instances one can achieve the desired results with just one or two to hypnosis sessions, after which time you’ll be in a position where you can successfully remember all your dreams.

It’s not uncommon for a person to suddenly wake up while in the middle of a lucid dream. However, because of all the effort you already put into conditioning your mind, if this happens to you, you’ll have no problem reconnecting all the important details and once you’re done so, you simply need to relax in order to go to sleep again. You will then be able to continue with your dream, while guiding it in any direction you choose. You can be rest assured that once you wake up, you will realize the full power of conscious dreaming.

And other top favorite between lucid dreamers, is going back to sleep for an hour or two once you wake up in the morning. This method is favored due to the dreams being incredibly close to lucid dreams. In fact, it is not uncommon to wake up after having one of them wondering if you were in fact dreaming or not. Waking up an hour to or two before your usual time can be taken care of simply by setting your alarm clock to go off at the desired time.

As you can more than likely imagine, it can be hugely beneficial to keep a track of your sleeping patterns so as to afford you the opportunity to see when will be the best time for you to have lucid dreams.

Interestingly enough, lucid dreams also have the ability to help people overcome sleeping disorders such as insomnia. If you have difficulty falling asleep, you simply need to convince yourself that by falling asleep you’ll be able to enjoy a lucid dream. In the vast majority of cases, your mind will take care of all the finer details.

Unlike in the past, when it could take ages to master the art of lucid dreaming, recent progress with sound technologies have made it a whole lot easier for everyone.

Many people who are just starting out find that the quickest way for them to have a lucid dream, is by taking advantage of binaural beats.

Not only do these beets help to align brain waves to the correct frequency required for lucid dreaming, but as they are played in different frequencies in each ear, they have a wonderful relaxing affect.

Prior to the advent of this technology, people could only rely on hypnosis and for most people, that was simply too much of a struggle, not to mention the amount of time required.

Listening to binaural beats is without a doubt an invaluable step towards experiencing lucid dreaming, particularly if it is combined with a little bit of hypnosis. This will without question prepare your mind and enable you to experience lucid dreaming just a short while after you first try.
